Easter Morning
Seashell, Resin, Flower Petals
(1.25" x .65" x 1")
The sculpture, Easter Morning, reflects a special time spent with my mom. On this spring morning, we went to greet the sunrise. Surrounding the beach walkway, flowers in dew covered the path, as the smooth waves glided through in the horizon. It was in that moment that I found this very shell. The intention of making this was to communicate the beauty and calmness of the environment. The bubbles and their light color communicating the morning dew, the ocean, and the feeling of hope. The flowers, captured and preserved in the water, showcase the beauty, joy, and pleasure of the moment captured all within this shell. The shell itself being the focal point, with its colors complimenting the petals of the flowers and the softness of the bubbles. It is as if the shell is holding the water.
